Vietnamese, Cuban businesses to capitalise on potential
Hanoi (VNA) – Businesses of Vietnam and Cuba will capitalise on all potential and resources to expand cooperation decided the Vietnam-Cuba Business Council at its annual meeting held in Hanoi on April 10.
The council also reached a plan of action for the 2008-09 period.
Antonio Gonzales Fernandez, President of the council’s Cuban chapter affirmed that Vietnam and Cuba will further develop commercial exchange and investment cooperation.
In 2007, three large firms of Cuba opened representative offices in Ho Chi Minh City to seek new products and diversify imports from Vietnam . He stated that Vietnamese businesses, who want to set up establishments in Cuba , will receive favourable treatments from the Cuban Government.
However, Antonio Gonzales Fernandez said the two governments should build a lending mechanism with suitable interest rates in order to create favourable conditions for their businesses payment.
In 2007, two-way trade value reached 272.4 million USD, 122 million USD more than 2006.
