PM commemorates Myanmar victims
Hanoi (VNA) – On behalf of the Vietnamese Government and people, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung laid a wreath at the Myanmar embassy in Hanoi on May 21 to commemorate the victims of Cyclone Nargis.
PM Dung wrote in the memorial guest book that: “The Government and people of Vietnam deeply mourn the victims of Cyclone Nargis, and we send our condolences to the Government and people of Myanmar and the victims’ families. We believe that, with your efforts, the Government and people of Myanmar will overcome the cyclone’s effects and return to normal life.”
Many ministry and sector delegations also laid wreaths at the embassy.
In Myanmar , Cyclone Nargis killed 78,000 people, left 56,000 others missing and caused total damage of 12 billion USD.
