Party leader meets Chinese NA Chairman and Premier
Beijing (VNA) – Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh met with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People’s Congress Wu Bangguo and Premier Wen Jiabao on May 30 and 31 during his official visit to China .
The Chinese leaders warmly welcomed the Vietnamese party chief’s visit and spoke highly of immense achievements the Vietnamese Communist Party and people have made in the renovation cause.
They said the shared goal of building socialism under the leadership of the communist party and other similarities require the two countries to further bolster their cooperation and share experience.
The Chinese leaders expressed their joy that the two countries have agreed to develop a comprehensive and strategic cooperative partnership during General Secretary Manh’s visit.
They said the agreement will further fortify the available foundation for the two countries’ ties to grow in a more comprehensive, stable and long-term manner for the sake of their people.
Chairman Wu stressed the importance of practical cooperation between the two countries’ law-making bodies, the sharing of experiences in law-building work and promotion of people’s right to mastery, and the coordination of relevant agencies overseeing the implementation of the two countries’ agreed accords.
For his part, Premier Wen stressed the need to make the best use of existing mechanisms in bilateral cooperation, affirming the Chinese Government will continue to assist its ministries, sectors, localities and businesses in investing and doing business in Vietnam, thus further increasing the two-way trade to a more stable and sustainable manner.
The two leaders thanked the Vietnamese Party, State and people for providing relief aid to quake victims in Sichuan , saying this showed the Vietnamese people’s close solidarity with the Chinese people.
Party General Secretary Manh again expressed sympathy for the earthquake victims for their great losses in lives and property.
He reiterated that the Vietnamese Party, State and people always attach importance to the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and China and highly appreciate new important developments in bilateral relationship over the past years.
“With the agreement to develop a comprehensive and strategic cooperative partnership, the Vietnam-China relationship will be raised to a new height,” he said.
The two Chinese leaders accepted an invitation to visit Vietnam by General Secretary Nong Duc Manh.
On the afternoon of May 31, General Secretary Manh met with the staff of the Vietnamese embassy and representative offices, Vietnamese students and overseas Vietnamese in China .
Earlier, the Vietnamese Party leader and his entourage toured the Beijing National Stadium, where opening and closing ceremony and the final match of men’s football at the 2008 Olympic Games will be held.
General Secretary Manh praised the engineers and workers for their hardworking and creative spirit. The Vietnamese Party leader said he believed that China will successfully organise the 2008 Olympic Games with such an excellent organising capability, hospitality and perfect infrastructure.
Mexican people to be ever-sincere friend of Vietnam in Latin America
Mexico City (VNA) – The people of Mexico will be ever-sincere friends of the Vietnamese people in Latin America and the Mexican Labour Party (MLP) will also be brother and faithful comrade of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) in Western Hemisphere .
Senator Alberto Anaya Gutierrez, MLP General Secretary, made the remark on May 30 in an interview with Vietnam News Agency reporters, who are on a working visit to Mexico .
General Secretary Gutierrez expressed his admire for the CPV and the people of Vietnam during their national liberation cause in the past as well as their present socio-economic development process.
He said that over the past decade, the MLP and the CPV have promoted cooperation in various fields and agreed with each other on international issues.
General Secretary Gutierrez, who initiated the foundation of the friendly congressional caucus with Vietnam of the Mexican Parliament, affirmed that in the future the Government and people of Vietnam , under the leadership of the CPV, will further boost their renewal (Doi Moi) process.
