Egypt shares experience in building e-government with Vietnam


(VOVNEWS) On June 17th, Minister of Information and Communication Le Doan Hop paid a working visit to Egypt to share experience in building e-government.

During the visit, the minister worked with Minister of Egyptian Administration Development Ahmed Darwish, and Minister of Education, Youssri El Gamal.

Minister Ahmed Darwish introduced the model of e-government which was implemented seven years ago and is successfully applied in Egypt. This created favourable conditions for people access information and benefit from pubic services.

He said that Egypt would be willing to share its experience and find partners as well as train human resources for Vietnam.

On the same day, Mr. Hop worked with the Egyptian Minister of Education to study the e-government model in the Egyptian educational system.

Since 2001, Egypt has applied information technology in schools and training programmes from primary to tertiary education, and even training programmes for teachers and educational managers. Through the Internet system, teachers, students and parents can share experiences and get information about education.

Minister Youssri El Gamal said that it is necessary to have close cooperation with international organizations such as Microsoft, IMB, Hp and UNDP, and individuals to implement this model.

Minister Hop said that Egypt and Vietnam have many similarities to cooperate for development. The Vietnamese government is determined to implement e-government to reduce administrative procedures. Vietnam wants to learn from Egypt’s successful experience in order to rapidly apply e-government in the near future.
