Vice president urges closer ties with Chile
Hanoi (VNA) – Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan has called for closer cooperation between Vietnam and Chile to make the two nations’ ties match their potential.
Doan made the appeal while receiving the visiting Vice President of Chamber of Deputies of Chile, Jorge Ulloa, in Hanoi on July 29.
Doan thanked the Chilean people for their assistance to Vietnam during its past national defence and current national construction. She said she hoped that her guest’s current visit to Vietnam will contribute to enhancing solidarity and mutual assistance between the two countries and two legislative bodies.
The Vietnamese Vice State President spoke highly of the achievements made by the Chilean people, including annual economic growths of 6 percent for many years, a good economic management at the macro level and numerous bilateral trade agreements.
Chilean Chamber of Deputies Vice President Jorge Ulloa expressed his pleasure at the fruitful cooperation and friendship between the two countries.
He said the visit will help him and his entourage better understand Vietnam and contribute to boosting bilateral ties between Vietnam and Chile.
Ulloa also said he hoped that in the future, Chile and Vietnam will be gates for their respective products to enter Southeast Asian and Latin American markets.
The same day, the Chilean Chamber of Deputies Vice President met with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the President of the Vietnam-Latin America Parliamentarians Friendship Association, Ha Van Hien.
