Sudanese President’s special envoy visits Vietnam

The Special Envoy of the President of Sudan, Award Ahmed Eljjaz, has paid a visit to Vietnam from August 5-7.

Hanoi (VNA) – Eljjaz, who is also Sudanese Minister for Finance and Economics, met with Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and worked with Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat, Finance Minister Vu Van Ninh, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Le Danh Vinh, and a number of Vietnamese businesses.

During these meetings the two sides informed each other of the socio-economic development in their countries, and discussed measures to promote Vietnam-Sudan cooperation, particularly in agriculture, and oil and gas industry.

They also exchanged views on international and regional matters of common concern.

The Sudanese guest praised Vietnam ’s past struggle for national independence and reunification, and its achievements in socio-economic development during the past 20 years of renovation.

Vietnam thanked the Sudanese people for their support during Vietnam ’s past struggles, and expressed its hope to further promote and expand the two countries’ traditional friendship and cooperation.
