Vietnam treasures ties with Australia

Vietnam always attaches importance to strengthening its relations with Australia , said Truong Tan Sang, Standing Member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee.

Hanoi (VNA) – Receiving former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating in Hanoi on August 28, Sang expressed his belief that the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Australia will be incessantly consolidated for their benefits as well as for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world at large

He said he was pleased with the positive developments in the multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries over the past time.

For his part, former PM Keating highly valued Vietnam’s great achievements during its renewal process and international integration. He said he believed that the Vietnamese people will continue harvesting more successes in their national development.

Australia appreciates Vietnam’s role and places importance on its long-term and multi-faceted cooperation with the Southeast Asian country, especially in economics, trade, science and education and human resource development, he added.

On the occasion, the former Australian PM shared experiences in building and developing a capital city, macroeconomic management, monetary policy and foreign exchange.
