Departing Chinese ambassador vows to boost ties in future

Hanoi (VNA)- The outgoing Chinese Ambassador Hu Qianwen pledged to continue working to develop his country’s friendship with Vietnam even after he finishes his diplomatic term in the Southeast Asian country.

The departing ambassador made this pledge during his meeting with National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong in Hanoi on November 14.

During their meeting, both host and guest expressed their deep satisfaction at the recent positive development of bilateral relations, citing their regular exchange of high-level visits as evidence of this.

Chairman Trong praised Hu Qianwen for his massive contributions to the progress made in bilateral relations between the two nations.

“Relations between the two countries have experienced significant, deep-rooted development in accordance with high-level commitments,” stressed the legislative leader.

Trong summed up the cordiality of the relationship between the two nations by describing it as one based on “friendly neighbourliness, comprehensive cooperation, lasting stability and future-oriented vision”.
