Meeting marks 59th anniversary of Vietnam-China diplomatic ties

Hanoi (VNA) – A meeting was held in Hanoi on Jan. 14 to mark the 59 th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-China diplomatic ties.

President of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association Doan Manh Giao stressed that the traditional relations and cooperation between the two countries, especially in diplomacy, defence, security and trade, have been developed towards a cooperative strategic partnership.

With their determination, by the end of 2008, the two countries completed land border demarcation and marker planting, laying the foundation to build a border of peace, stability and development.

Chinese Ambassador Sun Quoqiang said it is in the basic interest of both nations and also an objective requirement to continue strengthening mutual friendship and trust as well as promoting mutually beneficial cooperation.

He took the occasion to wish the traditional ties between Vietnam and China evergreen.
