Vietnam-Mozambique visa agreement to take effect

Hanoi (VNA) – A visa exemption agreement for holders of Vietnamese and Mozambican diplomatic and official passports, agreed by the two countries’ governments in Maputo on April 4, 2008, will come into effect on Feb. 9, 2009, the Foreign Ministry announced on Feb. 5.

According to the terms of the agreement, Vietnamese and Mozambican citizens who hold valid diplomatic and official passports will be exempted from entry, exit and transit visas, up to a maximum stay of 90 days.

In addition, members of the diplomatic missions and consulates of Vietnam and Mozambique in each of the two countries, as well as their family members, will be exempted from entry and exit visas and granted temporary residence permits for the whole of their terms of office in each other’s country.
