Hungary offers bio-technology transfer to Vietnam
VOV - Hungary is willing to transfer its bio-technology for wastewater treatment to Vietnam, said Lajos Olah, State Secretary for Hungary's Ministry of Environmental Protection and Water Management.
In an interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency, Mr Olah, who paid a visit to Vietnam from February 5-7, said Hungary is very interested in environmental protection in Vietnam.
“We want to build a waste water treatment centre using bio-technology in Vietnam and cooperate with the country in protecting the environment of Ha Long Bay”, he said.
Attila Bodnar, Vice President of Hungary’s Organica EcoTechnologies.Inc, said that biotechnology for waste water treatment is one of Hungary’s strengths. If the technology is applied to Vietnam, it will help the country reduce its costs by 20-30 percent.
Mr Olah added that Hungary plans to provide Vietnam with EUR100 million credit for environment-related projects focusing on human resources training, health care and waste water treatment.
Currently, both countries are finalising necessary procedures for signing an aid agreement under which Hungary will provide EUR50 million to Vietnam to implement projects on safe water supply and urban management.
