Vietnam wishes to further ties with Sudan

VNA - Vietnam wants to further strengthen its traditional friendship and cooperation with Sudan, especially in agriculture, oil and gas and trade.

Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan made the statement at a reception for Sudan President Special Envoy and Minister of Finance and Economics Awad Ahmed Mohamed Elgaz in Hanoi on March 30.

While applauding Sudan’s efforts in settling its internal affairs, Vice State President Doan expressed her wish that Sudan’s issues will be addressed in accordance with the UN Charter and in the spirit of peace and dialogue.

She thanked the Sudan people for their support for Vietnam in its struggle for national independence in the past as well as its current socio-economic development.

For his part, the Sudan President Special Envoy expressed his hope that Sudan will receive continued support from Vietnam at international forums and that the two countries will soon open their respective embassies.

He added that Sudan is actively preparing for the opening of its embassy in Hanoi./.
