Party delegation attends Malaysian party’s congress
Twenty foreign delegations joined more than 2,500 representatives of almost 4 million UMNO members in their congress.
Najib Razak, former permanent deputy president of UMNO and Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, was elected as new UMNO president.
During the congress, the Vietnamese delegation was received by the new UMNO president Najib Razak and Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi on separate occasions.
The two sides expressed their hope to further promote relations between the two parties and peoples, contributing to strengthening Vietnam-Malaysia multifaceted relations.
Nuong thanked Malaysia for its assistance to Vietnam and expressed her belief that the two parties and countries’ relations would further develop for the benefits of the two peoples, and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world./.
