Vietnamese embassy joins int’l cultural festival
The annual festival is an opportunity for students to learn about the cultures of nations around the world.
Vietnam, for its part, displayed bronze drums, gongs and handicrafts, notably brocade and pottery products, as well as the familiar conical hat.
Tran Thi Vinh, wife of Vietnamese ambassador to Canada Nguyen Duc Hung, said the embassy wanted to introduce the country’s beauty and friendliness.
Also, traditional dances were performed at the festival. Established in 1967, Algonquin University has 16,000 students, many of whom are Vietnamese./.
