The event coincides with the month-long celebration of the Europe Days, adding more spices of Europe to Hanoians’ life these days.
This is the fourth European food festival hosted by EuroCham on an annual basis, which attracted over one thousand visitors last year, mostly Vietnamese and expatriate businesspeople in Vietnam and their family members.
Addressing at the press conference held in Hanoi yesterday, Director of Hanoi EuroCham Thomas Felber said “This year we expect to attract a bigger crowd with some well-known European F&B exhibitors and hospitality providers. The event will be an unique happening in Hanoi, as it is every year.”
Initiated by EuroCham in 2005, the festival is aimed at promoting the diversity of Europe through a showcase of its culinary arts, as well as to promote cooperation and deepen understanding between the European and Vietnamese communities.
“We find this an exciting link between Europe and the Vietnamese people and bringing together the Vietnamese and European communities for a night of food, drink and entertainment,” Felber added. “As a business chamber, EuroCham finds culture a very important way to bridge our economies and people – you only do business well in a country you understand well culturally”.
With the gate opening from 4.30pm till late, visitors with tickets will be able to enjoy the food and drinks, as well as enjoy European style entertainment shows such as trick games by Bruno the Magician, a special musical performance by DJ Bruno from the Blue Glasses Experiment, live music by The Van Ho Ba and a lucky draw.
This year’s European Food Festival is presented with the supports of Vietnam Airlines, Unilever Vietnam, Carlsberg Indochina, Metro Cash and Carry, Big C, the Delegation of the European Commission to Vietnam and Piaggio Vietnam as well as other sponsors.
Tickets for the European Food Festival are VND180,000 each (children under 10 years old can enter free) and can be purchased in advance from the EuroCham office at Ground Floor, Hanoi Sofitel Plaza or at the gate on the day.
