PM welcomes Filipino Interior Secretary
The Filipino delegation, led by Secretary Ronaldo V. Puno, was visiting Vietnam at the invitation of Minister of Public Security Le Hong Anh.
PM Dung praised the results of talks between Secretary Ronaldo V. Puno and Minister Le Hong Anh and the agreements reached during his visit, especially the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two ministries.
The PM urged both ministries to elevate links and information exchanges to ensure social order and security and prevent crime.
He thanked the Filipino Department of the Interior and Local Government for assisting Vietnam by providing personnel training to combat crime.
Secretary Ronaldo V. Puno informed the PM about his visit and his meetings with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, which were aimed at putting into action the cooperation agreement between the two countries for the 2007-2010 period.
He confirmed that the agreement will create a mechanism for both countries to ensure security, fight crime and hold appropriate training courses.
Earlier, Minister Anh and Secretary Ronaldo V. Puno had held talks, during which they agreed that existing ties between the two countries have achieved a lot and are continuing to expand in various fields.
Following the talks, Minister Le Hong Anh and Secretary Ronaldo V. Puno signed a cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Filipino Department of the Interior and Local Government./.
