Vietnam increases marine cooperation with Holland

VNA 07/09/2009 - A delegation from the Vietnam Marine Department (Vinamarin) recently made a working visit to the Netherlands.

The 30-member delegation visited Holland , one of the world’s greatest shipbuilding nations, from August 31 to September 4.

The delegation is made up of leaders from Vinamarin as well as representatives of businesses specialising in seaport services, marine transportation, rescue, consultancy, shipbuilding, and marine logistics.

The delegation held meetings with the Ministry of Transportation, Public Works and Water Management of Holland, the Rotterdam Port, and a number of the country’s leading marine companies.

It also met with several members of the Holland Marine Equipment Association and the Rotterdam Port Promotion Council.

In the meetings, Vietnamese learned from their Dutch partners’ experiences on several issues, including seaport development planning, inland waterway system planning, and personnel training for the marine sector.

The visit, by the biggest-ever delegation from the Vietnamese marine sector to the Netherlands, creates an ideal opportunity for the two countries to cooperate with each other in the field./.
