Vice President receives Australian Court’s Chief Justice
While receiving the Chief Justice of Australia’s Federal Court, Michel Black, in Hanoi on September 9, Doan said that she was pleased with the signing of a memorandum of understanding on judicial cooperation between the two countries for the first time, marking a new level of development in bilateral ties.
The recent exchanges between the two countries have helped Vietnam to speed up the overhauling of its legal system and implement judicial reforms, she added.
For his part, Chief Justice Michel Black said that the completion of “a judge handbook”, especially an online judge handbook, is a significant move forward and something that not many other countries in the world have achieved.
The Federal Court of Australia has brought to trial many cases relating to intellectual property rights, an important measure for economic development, he said, adding that Australia is ready to support Vietnam in this field./.
