Vietnam-RoK ties expected to grow strongly

VNA 27/05/2010 - The strategic partnership and cooperation between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) will strongly develop for the prosperity of the two countries’ people, said deputy head of Vietnam’s legislative body and head of the RoK visiting delegation.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Kien and Park Soo Kwan, Vietnam ’s Honorary Consul General to the RoK, expressed their belief in an ever-growing bilateral relations at a meeting in Hanoi on May 27.

Welcoming the delegation, Vice Chairman Kien expressed delight at the growing strategic partnership and cooperation between the two countries.

The RoK is currently the second biggest investor in Vietnam and fourth biggest trading partner of the country.

He thanked the RoK government and people for their annual provision of around 100 million USD worth of official development assistance (ODA) to Vietnam . He praised the Vietnamese Honorary Consulate General to the RoK and the association of RoK people loving Vietnam for their time and efforts in promoting the friendship and cooperation between the two countries’ people.

Park Soo Kwan said the Vietnamese Honorary Consulate General had planned on conducting a survey on how to provide support to Vietnamese labourers and women who get married to RoK men to mingle into the RoK society./.
