At a reception given to visiting SCA President Manuel Nunez-Perez in Hanoi on June 28, Chairman Trong said the SAV, which has started operation for only a short time, lacks experience and skills, while the Spanish Court of Audit has a proven track record in the field.

The signing of a cooperative agreement between the two agencies marked an important step in implementing high-level agreements reached during the recent visit to Spain by State President Nguyen Minh Triet, said the law maker.

He affirmed that if well implemented, the cooperative agreement between the SCA and the SAV will make practical contributions to the development of bilateral relationship under the motto of “strategic partnership towards the future”.

The National Assembly Chairman praised positive developments in the two countries’ multi-faceted cooperation, particularly in economics, trade, investment, culture and education, and proposed that both sides promote the cooperation and exchange between the two legislative bodies.

The Spanish auditing chielf said though young, the State Audit of Vietnam has been able to do a lot of work and newly-signed agreement will boost mutual assistance between the SCA and the SAV.

He vowed to share experiences with Vietnam in auditing activities and hoped that both sides will further tighten cooperation in the bilateral framework as well as within the framework of regional and global auditing organisations.

In another reception given by Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan in Hanoi the same day, the SCA President said he was happy that the two agencies have reached agreement on cooperation in professional activities and training.

Vice President Doan expressed her joy at the constant development of the two countries’ friendly cooperation, especially their leaders’ decision to raise the bilateral relationship to the “strategic partnership towards the future”.

She took the occasion to thank Spain for its support to Vietnam in enhancing its comprehensive relationship with the European Union and international financial organisations./.
