The delegation paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) A. Martyniuk and worked with its Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Committee on Rules of Parliament Procedure, Ethics and Support to Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine .
Martyniuk briefed the Vietnamese lawmakers about Verkhovna Rada’s operations and Ukraine ’s political, socio-economic situation and foreign policy.
The two nations have no differences in stances on dealing with regional and international issues, and they have effectively coordinated in international organisations and forums, he said.
Martyniuk emphasised the necessity to step up cooperation between the two countries in general and the two parliaments in particular, including accelerating the signing of framework agreements on cooperation between the governments.
The two legislative bodies should also increase the exchange of high-level visits, he said, adding that Ukraine is preparing for the Vietnam visit of the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada later this year.
During their working sessions with the two committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine , the Vietnamese legislators inquired into the structure as well as operational and law-making experiences of the parliament and its bodies.

The official also pledged to create favourable conditions that would ensure a legal foundation for overseas Vietnamese to legally live and work in Ukraine./.
