Fatherland front delegation visits Cuba

VNA 30/09/2010 - A Vietnamese delegation led by Nguyen Lam, vice president of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee on September 29 had a working session with Juan Jose Rabilero, Cuban National Coordinator for the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) in the Cuban capital city of Havana.

The two sides agreed that as the largest grassroots organisations in Cuba and Vietnam, VFF and CDR should uphold the great national unity, serve the national construction and development process and strive for peace of the world.

Juan Jose Rabilero welcomed the VFF delegation visit on the occasion of the 50 th anniversary of the CDR. He said he hoped that the two sides would further promote the cooperative ties, contributing to strengthening and developing solidarity and friendship between the two countries.

For his part, Nguyen Lam expressed his admiration for the achievements and unyielding revolutionary spirit of the Cuban people, overcoming the US’s embargo and pressures from the hostile forces.

He affirmed the determination of the Vietnamese Party, State, Government, VFFCC and people to strengthen the traditional solidarity, friendship and cooperation with Cuba.

During the visit to Cuba from September 24-30, the Vietnamese delegation laid wreaths at the late President Ho Chi Minh statue and visited the monument dedicated to the Cuban national hero Jose Marti./.
