Get-together marks VN-Chile diplomatic ties
Addressing the function, Chilean Ambassador Fernando Urrutia reviewed the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Chile over the last 40 years.
He said that on March 24, Deputy Foreign Minister Doan Xuan Hung and his entourage visited Chile to exchange experiences in international economic cooperation and to meet his Chilean counterpart on March 25.
The two sides will also officially mark the event in Chile , he said.
The diplomat said that a Chilean foreign ministry delegation will visit Vietnam in April to boost political, diplomatic, economic and cultural relations and cooperation in many fields.
On the occasion, President Nguyen Minh Triet and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung cabled messages of greetings to Chilean President Sebastian Pinera Echenique.
The same day, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem sent a congratulatory message to Chilean Foreign Minister Alfredo Moreno Charme./.
