Viet Nam commits to strength coordination with Australia

(VGP-9/5/2011)- Viet Nam commits to closer coordination with Australia to comprehensively realize the joint cooperative programs, affirmed PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng when meeting with visiting Governor-General of Australia, Quentin Bryce, in Hà Nội on Monday.

Despite the global financial crisis, two-way trade value has still attained high growth rate, and the bilateral education cooperation has been flourishing with roughly 25,000 Vietnamese students learning in Australia, noted the Government Chief.

He hoped that Australia would continue granting more scholars and official development assistance for Viet Nam.

To boost mutual understanding and confidence, PM suggested that the two countries should further exchange high-ranking visits and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese community studying and living in Australia.

For her part, Governor-General Quentin Bryce reiterated that Australia always attaches importance to strengthen comprehensive cooperation with the Southeast Asian country.

She also said that Australia would expand education cooperation with Viet Nam while effectively  assist the country in its fight against HIV/AIDS.
