Chinese Ambassador awarded friendship insignia
(VNA - 14/07/2011) - The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) presented the “For Peace and Friendship among Nations” insignia to outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Sun Gouxiang, for his contributions to the friendship between the people of the two countries.
The honour was handed over by VUFO Chairman Vu Xuan Hong at a ceremony in Ha Noi on July 14.
For nearly three years, the Ambassador has contributed greatly to boosting and developing the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two Parties and States, Hong said, adding that people-to-people exchanges have also been increased through diversified activities.
He commented on the wide range of successful activities held in 2010 to mark the 60 th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries and the Viet Nam-China Friendship Year 2010.
For his part, the Chinese Ambassador promised to continue his contributions to the cooperation and friendship between the two countries’ people./.
