NA Chairman meets German, Irish diplomats
The two countries needed to take measures to fully tap opportunities and potential for cooperation and investment, benefiting both countries, Hung said.
He affirmed Viet Nam ’s support for Germany in developing ties with ASEAN countries, saying that Viet Nam was ready to cooperate with Germany in politics, diplomacy, defence, security, education and training, trade and investment for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
Ambassador Rolf Peter Gottfried Schulzen said that he would continue to make contributions to strengthening friendship between Germany and Viet Nam.
At the meeting with Irish Ambassador Maeve Collins the same day, Chairman Hung said development in the fields of politics, diplomacy, education and training, socio-culture, trade and investment was assured for the two countries.
Additionally, cooperation between the two countries’ legislatures has seen developments, creating an impetus for bilateral cooperative plans in the future, he said.
The Chairman encouraged the ambassador to make further contributions to the Vietnam-Ireland friendship, creating favourable conditions to support Viet Nam in increasing cooperation with the European Union.
Ambassador Maeve Collins said the head of the Irish parliament’s Committee for External Relations will visit Viet Nam soon. She described the visit as an opportunity for the two countries’ legislative agencies to promote cooperation to a new level.
Ambassador Maeve Collins said the Irish parliament paid special attention to the region and wished to develop cooperation with Asia, particularly Vietnam .
Ireland will soon launch a programme to support socio-economic development in Viet Nam ’s remote and especially disadvantaged localities, she said./.
