State President receives newly-accredited Ambassadors

(VGP - 21/02/2012) - State President Truong Tan Sang on February 21 separately received a number of foreign Ambassadors who presented their credentials.
At a reception for Uruguayan Ambassador Carlos Maria, Mr Sang affirmed that Viet Nam will create favourable conditions for him to fulfill his tasks in the country.

He thanked the South American country for helping Viet Nam in its past struggles and during the present national construction. He said he was pleased with the fine relations between Viet Nam and Uruguay, laying a firm foundation for promoting bilateral cooperation in all fields.

He thanked Ambassador Maria for the Uruguayan President’s invitation to visit the country and said the visit will be arranged though diplomatic channels.

While receiving Indonesian Ambassador Mayerfas, State President Sang congratulated Indonesia on its recent achievements and highlighted the multifaceted bilateral cooperation between Viet Nam and Indonesia, particularly as the two countries are building a strategic partnership, which he said will increase two-way trade and boost mutual assistance in international and regional forums.

The State leader asked the Ambassador to convey his invitation to Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to visit Viet Nam.

Ambassador Mayerfas said he hopes to fulfill his job in Ha Noi to contribute to developing the relationship between Indonesia and Viet Nam.

At another meeting with Ambassador Thet U from Myanmar, State President Sang praised the friendship between the two nations and said Vietnam is eager to help Myanmar during its national development. He also invited his Myanmar counterpart to visit Viet Nam.

Ambassador Thet U said he will try his best during his term of office to boost political, economic, and trade ties with Viet Nam.

At a reception for Brazilian Ambassador Victoria Alice Clearver, President Sang said Viet Nam is willing to support Brazil in becoming a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council if it is expanded.

Ambassador Clearver proposed that the two countries develop their bilateral as well as multilateral relations.

Welcoming Bolivian ambassador Gullermo Chalup Liendo, President Sang thanked the country for supporting Viet Nam in joining the World Trade Organisation in 2007./.
