Viet Nam treasures comprehensive ties with Chile

Both State President Sang and his Chilean counterpart Piñera highly valued developments in the bilateral ties and the signing of a free-trade agreement last 2011 which is expected to benefit both nations and remarkably raise two-way trade turnover in the coming years.
The two sides agreed to maintain high-ranking reciprocal visits, contacts, political consultations and early put the Viet Nam-Chile Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee into operation to beef up cooperation in areas of their strength like mineral exploitation, metallurgy, agro-forestry-fishery production, finance as well as high technology.
They also promised to encourage and create favorable conditions for respective business circles to strengthen contacts and seek partners to tap their vast markets.
Regarding global and regional issues of common concern, the two leaders reached consensus to support each other at multilateral forums like the UN, APEC, WTO, FEALAC and the negotiation process for the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
Right after the talks, State President Sang and President Piñera jointly signed the Việt Nam-Chile Joint Statement.
The same day, President Sebastián Piñera Echenique also met with Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, PM Nguyen Tan Dung and NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung./.
