Hungarian diplomat meets deputy foreign minister

(VNA - 09/05/2012) - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son has met with Hungarian Deputy State Secretary Janos Hovari who began a three-day working visit to Vietnam on May 7 at the invitation of Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed specific solutions to boost the two countries' multifaceted co-operation, especially in the fields of economy, trade and sustainable development in the context of Vietnam going to take the role as a co-ordinator for ASEAN-EU relations.

They exchanged views on the international and regional issues of common concern, including the East Sea issue.

The Hungarian side shared views with Viet Nam on ensuring free maritime activities and implementing peaceful settlement of East Sea disputes based on international laws, especially the 1982 United Nations' Convention on the Law of the Sea.

The two sides also affirmed the two countries' foreign affairs ministries will strengthen their co-operation in the coming time.
