During his stay from July 20, Heng Samrin held talks with Hung, and met with Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Huynh Dam.

At the meetings, the two countries’ leaders spoke highly of the fine developments of the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation over the past time, affirming that they will attach importance to the Viet Nam-Cambodia relations for the benefits of the two peoples and for peace, cooperation and development in the region and in the world.

The leaders agreed to boost cooperation, and information and experience exchange between the two NAs to contribute to the two countries’ common development.

Heng Samrin and Hung signed a cooperation agreement between the two NAs.

Under the agreement, the two NAs will build a cooperation programme and identify specific contents and sectors to ensure the effectiveness. The two sides will also intensify delegation exchanges between NA committees and departments.

The Vietnamese NA’s Office will also coordinate with the Cambodian NA Secretariat in exchanging research delegations and sharing experience, as well as co-organising seminars and workshops on issues of mutual concern.

Heng Samrin and his entourage toured Ho Chi Minh City. In Ha Noi, they paid floral tributes to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum, and visited the Ho Chi Minh museum.

The Cambodian guests also visited Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh province, before leaving Viet Nam.
