PM receives int’t guests

(VGP – 25/07/2012) - PM Nguyen Tan Dung on Wednesday warmly welcomed Mr. Josef Moser-Secretary General of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and Ms. Pamela Cox, Vice President for East Asia and Pacific Region of the World Bank (WB) who are on working visits to Viet Nam.

Viet Nam attaches importance to auditing work as it supports both the National Assembly and the Government to manage the national financial resources, said PM Dung during his reception for the INTOSAI Secretary General.

PM Dung hoped that INTOSAI would continue to foster ties with the State Audit of Viet Nam (SAV) to beef up experience sharing, training and institutional improvement.

According to Secretary General Josef Moser, INTOSAI has made contributions to transparency improvement, poverty reduction and financial management in 190 member states.

He also spoke highly of SAV’s operations and underlined his support for Viet Nam in terms of policy consultations and manpower training.

PM Dung said that he was glad to witness the fruitful relations between Viet Nam and the WB when receiving WB Vice President Pamela Cox.

Viet Nam, still needs more support from the WB in policy consultations and preferential credit source to maintain the acquired achievements and avoid the “middle-income trap.”  

The Government chief pledged to take more drastic measures to effectively tap the support and speed up disbursement progresses of WB-sponsored projects.

For her part, Ms. Pamela Cox affirmed that the WB would stand side by side with Viet Nam during its development process./.
