Russia wants to promote legislative ties with Viet Nam
(VNA - 29/07/2012) - Russia’s State Duma will beef up its relations with Viet Nam, especially in law making and supervising the implementation of the signed agreements, affirmed its Acting Chairman Melnikov Ivan Ivanovich.

At a meeting with Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang in Moscow on July 28, Acting Chairman Melnikov described President Sang’s official visit to Russia as an important milestone in further boosting the Russia-Viet Nam traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership.
President Sang asked the Russian State Duma to help Viet Nam improve the professional capacity of NA deputies to meet the requirements of the nation's legislative activities.
Both host and guest praised the close cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Russian State Duma.
The regular exchange of delegations as well as enhanced coordination at regional and international inter-parliamentary forums have improved the effectiveness of legislative activities of both sides, they affirmed.
They said they hope that the two legislative bodies will continue boosting the exchange of delegations at all levels and cooperation in the international arena to ensure the international treaties, of which both sides are members, are executed effectively.
The two sides spoke highly of the establishment of the Viet Nam-Russia Friendship Parliamentarians Groups and committed to create the best conditions for them to make contributions to strengthening the two countries’ comprehensive ties.
The same day, President Sang visited the construction site of the Ha Noi-Moscow Hotel, Trade and Culture Centre complex.
The complex is being built in Moscow’s north-east district on an area of 4.9 hectares by the Ha Noi - Moscow Trade Centre Investment Joint Stock Company (Incentra JSC). It is expected to be inaugurated by the end of next year after four years of construction.
At a reception given to Russian experts who helped Viet Nam build the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum the same day, President Sang highly valued Russian scientists’ presence in Viet Nam in its difficult period.
He said that contributions by former Russian military experts who stood side by side with Vietnamese people in their past struggle for national liberation and by Russian scientists who helped in building the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum will forever be the symbol of the noble friendship between the Vietnamese and Russian peoples.
