NA pledges to help Laos organise major forums
(VN - 23/08/2012) - Viet Nam will do its best to help Laos organise important diplomatic events, especially the coming seventh ASEAN-Europe Parliamentary Meeting (ASEP-7) and the ninth Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM-9).

National Assembly (NA) Deputy Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong stated this while receiving a delegation from the Lao National Assembly’s Economic and Finance Committee, led by its Chairwoman Dr. Souvanpheng Bouphanouvong, in Ha Noi on August 23.
Viet Nam’s NA has set up delegations of experienced experts to work with the Lao counterparts to complete the preparations for ASEP-7, and to organise the ASEM-9, as well as other important events this year, said Phong.
Souvanpheng Bouphanouvong said that because of Viet Nam's experience, the Lao side is keen to learn about how Vietnam negotiated its entry to the WTO.
She said she hoped that Viet Nam will continue to help Laos hold these and similar events in the future.
