Welcoming Mr. Franz Jessen, PM Dung emphasized that the relations between Viet Nam and the EU are blooming, significantly benefiting the development of the two sides.
The host leaders expressed his hope that, in his term, Mr. Franz Jessen will closely work with Vietnamese partners to boost up the multifaceted cooperation between Viet Nam and the EU, especially in politics, economy, trade, investment and tourism. He suggested that the two sides should speed up negotiations for an FTA.
Confirming that Viet Nam always backs the EU’s efforts to upgrade its relations with ASEAN, Mr. Dung expected the Union to support the bloc’s 6-point declaration on East Sea.
Ambassador Franz Jessen pledged to spare no effort to enhance the EU-Viet Nam cooperation. He took the occasion to ask for more favors from the Vietnamese Government to EU investors doing business in Viet Nam.

In his reception given to French Ambassador Jean Noel Poirier, PM Dung reaffirmed Viet Nam’s consistent policy to bring its relationship with France to new heights.
Viet Nam will give French investors best conditions to conduct their operations here, the PM emphasized.
He hoped that France will continue its ODA to Viet Nam and that the two countries will strengthen their cooperation in education, science, and culture.
The French diplomat said he will cooperate with the host agencies to promote bilateral relations during his term of office.
