Viet Nam, Iran tighten friendship, cooperation

(VNA - 30/11/2012) - Viet Nam attaches importance to friendly and cooperative ties with Iranian people, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has said.

Phuc made the statement at a reception for the visiting delegation from Tehran, the capital city of Iran, which was led by Governor Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, on November 30 in Ha Noi.

The Deputy PM said the visit will further promote cooperation and friendship between the two countries, in particular the two capital cities, Ha Noi and Tehran.

Speaking highly of the newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on friendship and cooperation between the two cities in Ha Noi on November 29, Phuc expressed his belief that both sides will exert efforts to implement agreed terms.

The two countries should accelerate State diplomacy, people-to-people diplomatic activities and promote the roles of friendship associations, he said.

For his part, Ghalibaf spoke highly of Vietnam’s dynamic economic development and socio-political stability.

The guest expressed his wish that the two sides will foster bilateral ties, including experience sharing, and expand cooperation in areas of mutual strength.
