VN wants stronger trade ties with EU, says PM

(VGP– 07/03/2013) - Receiving Europearn Commissioner for Trade Karel de Gucht on March 7, PM Nguyen Tan Dung said that Viet Nam wants to boost up its commercial relations with the European Union (EU).

PM Dung showed his pleasures at recent progresses in cooperation between Viet Nam and the EU in particular and between ASEAN and the EU in general.
 
Viet Nam expects stronger trade ties with the EU and wants to speed up and conclude negotiations for the Viet Nam-EU Free Trade Agreement by the end of 2013, said the Government chief.

Mr. Karel de Gucht asserted that the EU is ready to enhance its cooperation with Viet Nam and other ASEAN member countries.

To finalize negotiations for the Viet Nam-EU FTA, he said, both sides need to show their high political determination.

Europearn Commissioner for Trade Karel de Gucht is attending the 19th ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Retreat and related meetings scheduled on March 6-9 in Ha Noi.
