NA Chairman meets St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly leader
(VNA - 10/03/2013) - National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung has asked the St Petersburg Legislative Assembly to promote cooperation with the Vietnamese NA and People’s Councils in Viet Nam’s provinces and cities.
At a meeting with Acting Chairman of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly Sergey Andenko in Russia on March 10, Hung said his visit aims to deepen the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Russia.
Russia is a leading and important partner in Viet Nam’s foreign policy, affirmed the NA leader.
For his part, Andenko said Viet Nam and the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation boast a time-honoured traditional friendship.
He said the city authorities are actively building cooperation agreements with Ha Noi.
St. Petersburg wants to further cooperate with Viet Nam’s NA and the authorities of cities and provinces, therefore helping advance the Viet Nam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership, said Andenko.
NA Chairman Hung and his entourage visited the Winter Palace before leaving St. Petersburg for Moscow.
