45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between VN, Iraq
(VGP – 09/07/2013) - State President Truong Tan Sang on Tuesday cabled his message of congratulations to his Iraqi counterpart Jalal Talabani on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Viet Nam and Iraq.
On the occasion, PM Nguyen Tan Dung also extended congratulations to PM Nuri Al-Maliki.
The same day, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh sent his congratulatory message to Iraqi FM Hoshyar Mahmud Zebari.
Viet Nam and Iraq set up diplomatic ties on July 10, 1968.
Viet Nam opened its Embassy in Baghdad in 1973 while Iraq inaugurated its embassy in Ha Noi in 1976./.
