VN calls for Japanese ODA in human resources development
Deputy PM Nhan highly valued development cooperation programmes that the Japanese agency has provided for Viet Nam over the past years.
The increasingly strong flow of official development assistance (ODA) coming through JICA for infrastructure development projects in Viet Nam such as transportation, poverty reduction, human resources training and administrative reform has directly contributed to the country’s development, he noted.
He affirmed that Viet Nam has been using Japanese ODA in an effective manner and for the right purposes.
The host expressed his wish that the new JICA Chief Representative will continue to make active contributions to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan.
For his part, Mutsuya Mori spoke highly of the Vietnamese Government’s macroeconomic policies and its efforts to curb inflation, showing his belief that Viet Nam, a strategic partner of Japan, will achieve greater success on the path of national construction.
He conveyed his gratitude to the Vietnamese Government and people for their invaluable and effective support, both materially and spiritually, to Japan when it was hit by an earthquake and tsunami in 2011.
The JICA representative said that the developing relationship between the two nations has been demonstrated via increasingly effective cooperation programmes between JICA and Viet Nam.
He also confirmed that his Government has always prioritised ODA for Viet Nam, particularly in projects to develop highly-skilled human resources and vocational training.
