PM vows to back anti-corruption cooperation with Thailand

(Vietnamplus - 05/08/2013) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has pledged to back the Government Inspectorate of Viet Nam (GI) and Thailand’s National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to boost their cooperation in combating corruption.

Receiving NACC’s President Panthep Klanarongran in Ha Noi on August 5, PM Dung stated that Vietnam is ready to work with all countries, including ASEAN members, in this field.

He suggested the two sides soon implement reached agreements, especially those on sharing experience and information, technical cooperation and personnel training, thus practically contributing to strengthening ties between the two countries.

Expressing his pleasure at the developing ties between Viet Nam and Thailand in various areas, including corruption prevention, PM Dung highly valued the outcomes of the working session between General Inspector Huynh Phong Tranh and President Panthep Klanarongran.

For his part, the NACC President noted that since his commission and the GI signed their cooperation agreement in February 2012, the two sides have conducted practical cooperation activities such as sharing experience in directing anti-corruption work and asset enumeration.

He said one of the aims of his visit is to learn about Viet Nam’s experience in organising inspection agencies in all localities to apply in 76 Thai provinces.

Panthep Klanarongran also voiced his hope that the Vietnamese Government will support the GI and NACC to cooperate more closely and effectively.
