PM Dung made the remark on September 4 in Ha Noi during his talks with his Timor-Leste counterpart.

The two PMs were satisfied with the achievements in the bilateral ties, affirming closer coordination in politics, economics, trade, investment, agro-forestry and fishery, energy, information and communication, education and training.

They agreed to task relevant ministries and agencies to early ink an agreement on investment encouragement and protection; cooperate in food security, education-training, petrol, tourism, people-to-people exchange, and proactively realize the Framework Agreement on economic and technical cooperation.

The two leaders also discussed regional and international issues of common concern and underscored the strengthening of coordination at international forums and organizations.

Viet Nam highly valued the determination of Timor-Leste in its bids to early join ASEAN and promised to work with other ASEAN member states to realize the country's aspiration.

Both sides reached a consensus on the maintenance of security, maritime safety, peace and stability in the East Sea.

The Timor-Leste PM voiced his support for the bloc’s stance as stipulated in ASEAN’s six-point principle on the East Sea.

After talks, the two PMs witnessed the signing of a Trade Agreement, an important document that lays down a legal foundation for both countries to spur trade linkages and raise their two-way trade turnover in the future./.
