Receiving RoK President Park Geun-hye in Ha Noi on September 9, General Secretary Trong said he believes in the new developments of bilateral ties in the time ahead.

Turning his attention to the Korean peninsula issue, the Party chief stressed Viet Nam’s stance on backing peace, stability and non-nuclearisation on the peninsula.

Sharing the view that bilateral cooperation potential remains ample, both leaders agreed to work out a new vision and long-term plan on economic and investment cooperation in an attempt to lift the two countries’ links to a new height for the sake of the two peoples.

The host also accepted President Park Geun-hye’s invitation to visit her country with pleasure.

Meeting Park Geun-hye the same day, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung made it clear that the Vietnamese legislature stands ready to drive the two Governments’ cooperation, which he said, is among the priorities of Viet Nam’s foreign policy.

The RoK President informed her host that apart from boosting links between the two legislative bodies, her visit accompanied by RoK conglomerates aims to seek more business prospects with Vietnamese partners.

She also pledged all possible support for the Vietnamese expatriates in the RoK, including Viet Nam-RoK multi-cultural families, especially Vietnamese brides.

Both sides vowed to facilitate the signing of a free trade agreement which will make it easier for commodity trading and cooperation between their enterprises.
