Fatherland front leader visits China
The VFF leader reflected on the visit to China by President Truong Tan Sang and the Vietnamese visit by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in 2013. He said that those diplomatic occasions, along with his current visit (from February 21-25), reaffirm Viet Nam’s wish to enhance comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples.
Highlighting the two committees’ significance to each country’s political life, Nhan voiced his hope that they will further develop their important role in national construction and development while effectively implementing outstanding agreements.
Echoing Nhan’s comments, Yu Zhengsheng suggested the two sides step up their partnership in the time ahead, especially through the exchange of delegations and the organisation of seminars.
He spoke highly of the China-Viet Nam relationship over the past year, saying China has long pursued a policy of friendly neighbourliness and wishes to aid Vietnamese development.
After their talks, Nhan and Yu witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding regarding VFF-CPPCC cooperation from 2014-2019.
Earlier, Nhan undertook a fact-finding tour to CPPCC’s Heping chapter, Tianjin city, during which he met with Sun Chunlan, Secretary of the municipal People’s Committee and He Lifeng, president of the chapter.
Nhan expressed his hope that more and more Tianjin businesses will invest in Viet Nam , contributing to promoting the traditional friendship between the two countries.
Tianjin, which has a twin relationship with Viet Nam’s northern port city of Hai Phong, has 19 projects in Viet Nam with a total registered capital of more than 50 million USD.
Trade between the city and Vietnamese localities in 2013 exceeded 3 billion USD, up 75 percent against the previous year.-VNA
