During the visit, PM Dung and Cuban leaders are expected to discuss measures to cement and deepen the special traditional relations, improve the efficiency of economic and trade linkages, spur investment.
They will also exchange views on regional and international issues of common concern.
Since the establishment of diplomatic ties on December 2, 1960, the Viet Nam-Cuba relations have been flourishing. In 2010, the two countries marked the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
In 2013, the two countries jointly held the 40th anniversary of Leader Fidel Castro’s visit to Liberated Area of the South of Viet Nam (9/1973 – 9/2013) and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Cuban Committee of Solidarity with South Viet Nam.
Both sides have maintained annual mechanism of the Viet Nam-Cuba Joint-Governmental Committee and reciprocal visits at all levels to boost the bilateral ties.
The two countries have shaken hands in other fields such as food production, science-technology, security-national defense and expand cooperation in trade, tourism, construction and telecommunication./.
