Presiding the event, National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong, who is also head of the IPU -132 Organisation Board, appreciated efforts by members of the two boards in implementing assigned duties, especially in completing the procedure for signing an agreement between the Vietnamese NA and the IPU regarding the preparation for the IPU Assembly, which will gather lawmakers from around the world.
She also called on relevant agencies to complete preparatory works as soon as possible, in order to fulfill the master plan for preparing and organising the event.
With regard to financial and logistical work, Phong also urged members of subcommittees to swiftly complete necessary preparations and regulations.
She asked the IPU –132 Sub-Secretariat and relevant sub-committees to build training content for the NA’s delegation, their members, volunteers and press agencies ahead of the event.
Agencies in charge of information and communication at the event were also required to swiftly update information on the IPU’s official website in line a signed agreement.-VNA
