President receives new Polish, Chinese ambassadors

President Truong Tan Sang received the new ambassadors of Poland and China to Viet Nam in Hanoi on May 19.

Polish Ambassador Barbara Szymanowska said she hopes the two countries will work closely in joint activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.

She said Polish businesses are keen on the Vietnamese market, expressing her belief that enterprises’ good partnership will raise bilateral trade.

The diplomat noted that the Polish President highly values Viet Nam’s role and position and plans to make a visit to the country soon.

President Sang said the Party, State and people of Viet Nam always remember Poland’s help during their past struggle for independence.

He stated that Viet Nam always treasures its traditional friendship with Poland, adding that the two sides should coordinate more closely to tap their cooperation potential, especially in trade and investment.

Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador Hong Xiao Yong said he will do his utmost to boost the comprehensive strategic partnership between Viet Nam and China for mutual development and contribute to maintaining peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

President Sang emphasised Viet Nam’s consistent policy of prioritising the friendly neighbourliness and affiliation with China.

He said he hopes Hong will do more for the friendship and comprehensive partnership between the two countries in the future.-VNA
