Italy to realise deals from Viet Nam visit

CPV/VNA - Prime Minister Matteo Renzi has pledged that Italy will work hard to realise the agreements, especially on trade and investment, reached during his Vietnam visit.

This will deepen the two countries’ strategic partnership which was set up during an Italy visit by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in January, 2013, Renzi told the Party chief in Hanoi on June 9th.

The Italian PM highly valued Viet Nam’s renovation achievements as well as the country’s role and position in the world.

He informed the host of Italia’s recent developments while affirming the importance of cooperation and its potential between the two countries.

For his part, Party General Secretary Trong thanked the Italian people for their solidarity and support for Viet Nam in the past as well as at the present. He said he is pleased with the development in bilateral ties and hopes for fresh breakthroughs, particularly in investment, trade, and education-training. The Party General Secretary also said he wishes to further relations between the Communist Party of Viet Nam and Italian political parties, including the Democratic Party, as well as the two countries’ law-making bodies.

Host and guest discussed regional and international issues of common concerns. On recent developments in the East Sea, Trong expressed his thanks for statements and articles by Italian congressmen, scholars and friendship organisations, which objectively reflected the situation, expressed concerns over tensions at sea and supported Viet Nam’s peaceful measures in accordance with international law./.
