DPM/FM Pham Binh Minh receives Indian Ambassador

VGP – Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh hosted a reception for Indian Ambassador to Viet Nam Harish Parvathaneni.

The Deputy PM expressed his pleasure at the important developments in the bilateral ties especially following the upgrading of comprehensive strategic partnership during the official visit of Indian PM Narendra Modi to Viet Nam last September.

In 2017, Viet Nam and India mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties (January 7, 1972-January 7,2017) and the 10th anniversary of strategic partnership (July 6, 2007-July 6, 2017).

The host leader suggested the two sides early accomplish and sign action programs to implement the comprehensive strategic partnership and strive for higher and stable two-way trade turnover.

For his part, Ambassador Harish affirmed that Viet Nam represents one of important pillars in India’s Act East policy. He also praised Viet Nam’s coordinating role in the ASEAN-India relations in the 2015-2018 period and the signing of important agreements on such areas as national defence, nuclear energy, universe research, and IT.

The Ambassador affirmed that he would closely work with Vietnamese ministries, agencies, and sectors to realize reached agreements; prepare for upcoming high-ranking visits; accelerate Indian credit packages for Viet Nam; and strengthen operation of Indian training centers in Viet Nam.

The guest leader also announced that the Indian Ambassador would conduct important events, including cultural exchanges and economic discussion to mark the friendly year./.
