Viet Nam extends sympathies to Malaysia, search efforts continue for missing aircraft
Meanwhile, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak said in Kuala Lumpur on March 8 that a total of 15 planes and six vessels have been deployed to search for the passenger jet, which carried 239 people on board.
On March 8, Deputy PM , FM Pham Binh Minh extended deep sympathies to the Government and people of Malaysia, relevant countries and families of the passengers on the missing plane during his urgent phone call to Malaysian FM Dato Sri Anifah Hj Aman.
The Vietnamese Deputy PM, FM said PM Nguyen Tan Dung paid special attention to the case and asked relevant agencies to coordinate closely with Malaysia to check the information about the passenger plane and deploy forces and means for the search and rescue work.
Malaysian FM Aman expressed sincere thanks for Viet Nam’s timely assistance.
Earlier on the same day, Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Le Hai
Binh expressed his deep concern over the missing plane and extended sympathies
with the plight of the families and relatives of passengers on
board.
Immediately after receiving the information, Viet Nam proactively
coordinated with concerned parties to verify the facts and deploy search and
rescue measures, he said./.
