Viet Nam, Algeria seek stronger economic ties

Ha Noi (VNA)- Economic cooperation topped the agenda of a meeting in Ha Noi on March 30 between Phan Dien, Politburo member of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, and visiting Algerian National People's Assembly Speaker Amar Saadani.

Both Phan Dien, who is also a permanent member of the Secretariat of the CPV Central Committee, and Saadani saw the need to boost economic ties in the interest of the two nations.

Host and guest discussed measures to develop bilateral economic and trade ties to match the two countries' political relations. They also agreed to promote coordination of action at multi-lateral forums.

The Algerian parliament leader emphasised that his country and Viet Nam, based on their time-honoured relationship, should together advance on the road towards global economic integration.

Through Algeria, Viet Nam may take a foothold in the African market and vice versa, Algeria expects to hold a share in the Southeast Asian market with help from Viet Nam, concluded Saadani.--Enditem
